Brakes

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of y'all have had problem with your brakes. I took my car in for it's 10,000 miles servicing, and had them check out a vibration. They said that I had 2 warped roters and one they weren't too sure about. Also, they said that one of the pads on for the brakes was crumbling/deteriorating. Has this happened to any of you? Or is it just one of those isolated things.

Also, I had them check my drivers seat and they tightend some bolts and that next month a Toyota Rep will be up here and they are going to schedule an appointment for me with him so he can see if there is really something wrong. I am going to try and see if they will just give me a new seat, and hopefully it will be better than the one I got.

Who knows, I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I had to have my rotors resurfaced around the same mileage because of vibration caused by warped rotors. I wouldn't call it normal but it was no big deal so I didn't get worked up about it. Plus it is covered under warranty.

Brakes and rotors are wear items and usually aren't covered under warranty. If your rotors are warped, it might be your driving style. Do you drag your brakes a lot? Like on a long downhill and you're on the brakes all the way down? That will cause excess heat to your rotors causing them to warp. Get it hot enough and your pads will crumble.

Well, I got the rotors and stuff done today. Cost: Absolutly free, warranty. They had to drill one of the caliper mount bolts out and replaced 2 rotors, and pads. I have no idea about dragging my breaks down hills, seeing as how there are no hills around here. Most of my driving is back and forth to work (commuter style driving). So I have no idea. I have never had warped rotors before, this is including my time in Germany going down A-5 @ 155mph, and when I was doing about 110mph and had a blow out on my rt rear tire. I have to say that is the most scared I have ever been when driving. But, I woud have to slow down really quickly sometimes, but never had my rotors warp. Something new to me.
