brand new owner

i recently bought a 96' 4runner, 4-cyl, 4x4, 230k miles on it, 5 speed manual. just wondering some things i should watch for, keep my eye on, improve on, etc. i live in california, but will be driving it back in the north east within a year. any help would be great.

Congrats on your purchase! I own a 2000 4x4 4-cylinder 5 speed and I love it. The only problem i've had with mine which is a common one is the exhaust manifold cracking, but other than that its been a great truck!
