Ok I’m new to the 5vzfe I have always loved the 3rd gen so I bought my mom a 96 to drive in the winter and I fell in love with it . While I’m not a 5vz expert by any means I have been building RB POWERD 300zx’s I actually did the first RB in a Z31 in the US , RB 26’s in z32’s . Skylines , supras Ls swaps in Z’s in muscle cars I even put a 3.8 supercharged grandam GTP in a cav Z24 . So naturally the first thing when I bought one for myself I realized the 3.4 is a nutless boat anchor that will run forever . I don’t have a spare enging at the moment to try a few things out on
But I do have a spare VG30DETT intake and turbos so has any one tried to flip the exhaust manifolds . This is not some I’m gonna make a thousand hp bs
Pipe dream build thread . I want torque and gobs of it off idle which can be made with turbos all u supercharger guys keep it in your pants . Honestly I think I’m going even smaller with the turbos that’s right 2 of them so I’m gonna play around with the intakes throttle bodies and keep everything like cruise working
And sorting out the maf & a cooling duct in the lower valence so a stock TT Z intercooler can be used to keep this as affordable and efficient as possible .

Twin turbo Tacos already exist, nothing new here. Though they do it on the 4-cylinder 2RZ/3RZ engines. Not enough room to do it on a 5VZ-FE.

You'll have to excuse my family- they take a while to warm up to new ideas and people. They'll come around and love your project.
Not sure why they're saying these things are unsafe at 60. I drive 80 all the time in mine on 35s. Sounds like their rig needs some maintenance work.
Also don't know why they think you're swapping the heart for a Nissan blood pumper- even though that might not be the worst thing in the word.
I don't know of anyone trying to flip the manifolds, but I can't wait to see where you go with your experimenting!

I'll bite.

To begin with, your tone and nature of all of your posts after the initial are going to turn people off. If someone incorrectly thinks that your wanted to put a Nissan engine in your moms 4R, maybe explain what you aim to do, instead of hurling insults and being childish, especially at some of the more prominent members here.

Secondly, on to your question I think what you are asking is if you can flip the exhaust manifolds over, which I do not believe is possible without significant modification. The bolts won't line up and I believe when I had my engine apart, the middle exhaust port is slightly closer to one end or the other, not centered up. I already tossed the old iron manifolds, otherwise I could verify for certainty.

Upon further inspection, no the center exhaust opening is not in the middle of the other 2 ports for some reason. and the studs are wrong. No simple flipping exhaust manifolds here.

Maybe a rear mount turbo? or turbos?
