Bumper Suggestions... Just Hit Deer!

So I definately hit a deer coming home from dinner tonight. I only have bumper damage so I figure its a great time to upgrade to a heavy duty bumper. I have a 3rd Generation, 1999 Limited Runner.

I wanted to ask you guys who have offroad / heavy duty bumpers for your suggestions and recommendations. I think I'd like to protect the headlamps too. Also, maybe something that will give me more clearance? Thanks for your input ahead of time, I look forward to hearing from you.

I like my CBI. I also have the rear to match. now all I need is $ to buy sliders and I am done for the outside. I only plug cause I have seen it built. but I am sure all others suggested are great too. I had the easy option to pick mine up. so that helps. heck they even installed it for me.

just pick you flavor and run with it. all are great protection

I say go with what floats your boat and wallet. there all spendy as plate bumpers go.
tube are cheaper.

Thanks again for all of the help and options, I'm going to check out the prices and figure this out... as for my insurance, I'm trying to figure out if its something I want to report to them or not, I'm not sure how animal collisions will affect me (Progressive Insurance) and if they will help pay for this type of bumper. Have any of you ever experienced something like this and do you you know if insurance will contribute towards my new bumper? :frog:

Yeah, I would say to first figure out which you prefer, tube or plate and then go from there. Both sides offer some great options.

I am not sure about your insurance but typically a hit deer is a comprehensive claim not a collision claim (at least with my company it is). They will give you the price the shop gives to repair (I would get a dealership quote...they are prob the highest). You can then take that check, cash it and apply it toward the cost of the aftermarket!
