Butchered Xj while in 4X4 shop durring man's deployment

Shop butchered my Xj - NAXJA Forums -::- North American XJ Association

This guy left his jeep with a 4x4 shop with some dayna 60's requesting professional work. He comes back to this its ridiculous! I feel bad for the guy.

Oh man that's awful.... It's like the decided to play pin the part on the XJ. I'm surprised they didn't relocate the hitch to the wheel hub.

Had it been my 4runner, I certainly have them pay for new everything that they basically destroyed. Then again I can't see myself leaving my vehicle in the hands of another mechanic besides myself lol.

I mean what can you say at that point. There is nothing that shop can do to fix that other than buying you a new rig. I would be taking them to court either way and smashing them in every online review I can, BBB, Etc...

I guess I'd probably pay with credit card and then dispute the charge (on the basis of quality of goods received)... and then prepare a case for court. It sucks when they have leverage like that and can put you in a bind.

But it sounds like he just picked some random shop to drop his junk at without doing his homework first, and without specifying exactly what he wanted done, and then left on deployment and expected to come back to find a superjeep waiting for him. I think he's got to come in for his own share of the blame here.

I agree.. he has some fault in this. But they could have just gone full aftermarket and done better. If they can't fabricate or weld, they shouldn't be putting it on people's vehicles and then charging them out the wazoo for it.
