Buying in Canada

Hey guys I'm about to start with moding my runner. I'm looking at a daystar lift, spidertrax, tires, rims, exhaust, etc. Where do you fellow Canadians get your stuff. I live in the Ottawa Valley if any one know of some locations in the area or some sites would be great too. I know you can order most stuff out of the US but paying for shipping across the border suckkks. thanks

Im not sure how difficult it is for you to get over the boarder, but I know a bunch of guys out here on the west coast use various shops just south of the boarder to order for us and then go pick it up. They charge a small fee but nothing compared to the shipping fees to get over the boarder.

I'm from the valley myself, more specifically just outside Cornwall. I bought my daystar lift from National 4x4 (Accessories, Tires, Suspension Lifts, Wheels, Winches, Bumpers, Armor.). I went to there Montreal location but they have one in Smith Falls which might be closer to you. They seemed to carry more stuff for domestics but were able to order my lift kit and it came it fairly quickly.

I agree with Huskey if your buying from the states, Ship-it Shops are the way to go. (heres the one I use: Ship-It Shop - (315) 764-5866 - Massena, New York 13662 | iBegin)

On a side note, do you know any good trails in the area? I'm always up for an adverture. I've been meaing to hook-up with the Ottawa Valley Offroaders but i'm often away with work when they do there trail runs.

Thanks TRD Cal, i didn't know about the one in Smiths Falls, thats right around the corner from me, so i' will for sure be giving those guys a call. As for good trails in the area not really sure, I just got my 4runner and haven't been out in this area.

If you are free this weekend, come and check out Wheels a Churnin' at North Augusta Motor Park. They have an awesome mud bog and most of the 4x4s in the area come out.

Unfortunately I'm going still be away with work until wed. so I won't make this one maybe the one in the fall. I went last year but that was before I owned my 4runner. Definately a good time tho!

Off topic alittle, I'm not sure what trim level you have orignalbrad, but I just notice that myself, Huskey, Ti-ben and Red all have limiteds. Were just a bunch of fancy Canadians aren't we . On second thought, maybe its just cuz we "need" the heated seats!

honestly heated seats played a huge roll on my decision making when looking for a 4Runner.

I actually found the Daystar 2.5 levelling kit at Canadian Tire out of their Keystone special order catalog. I hate buying auto parts from my canadian tire because their service sucks but its cheaper then any where else I've looked.

Thats cool. I didn't know they sold stuff like that, I may have to check out this Keystone catalog you speak of.

Yeah its really stupid, because you can't see what they have online, you can order the catalog from them or browse in store. I just happened to look through it to see if they had level kits. I got my K&N CAI from there too. Usually slightly cheaper then ordering in from the US.

Yah I find they usually have pretty good prices, at least compared to the other auto stores around here. I'll have to take a stroll down when I get home to see if they have one. The CT is my town is pretty small tho.
