C4 Fab Lo-Pro winch bumper 4th gen

Took the initiative and emailed C4 Fab on their website. This has me excited. I didn't want a full blown heavy steel bumper on my DD (requiring suspension, etc) and wasn't quite turned on by CBI's front hidden hitch for a winch mount. This is down right perfect IMHO for my DD purposes. A bit of protection, and versatility all in one.

I'm in the other boat- installing an icon suspension so that c4 can build full front and rear bumpers for me in March. Can't wait!

That whole bumper was $525?! :shocked::shocked: If only the dang shipping didn't kill me from basically every western based company!!

Mine was only 425 and I picked it up, so I dont know what it would be to ship. But it is a weld together kit from NWTI.

This version is only made to fit the 03-05 model. We will most likely need to make an 06-09 version that is slightly different to fit the slanted shape of the center portion of the plastic bumper cover.

$525 actually isn't bad at all for that. Sure it requires a permanent modification to the front, and if you live in the rusty northeast like me, getting the front crush bolts off will likely be a pain in the ass x100, but I'm glad they are showing some love to 4th gens.

Yeah we snapped off one of the mounting studs on this 4runner we had in the shop due to rust. But there are plenty of mounting points, so we aren't worried about it.

Sweet, I don't want to go the full bumper route but would like a winch and more stout front end so this might be perfect if 06-09 is included!

Looking good. This will certainly make my decision to purchase the Budbuilt hidden winch mount much harder. Fingers crossed for '06-'09 compatibility.

Looks really good and an excellent soulution to those looking to add a winch w/out swapping for a heavier bumper. ~$525 is about what I paid for my NWTI full bumper kit

I wonder how cutting the center out impacts the rigidity of the rest of the stock bumper cover. That's the only thing that would make be hesitate, I'd hate to have the stock one flapping around at 70mph

There are mounting brackets that are used to attach the lower corners of the plastic bumper cover to the new Lo-Pro winch bumper. We wouldnt leave it all loose and floppy!

We are located in South Dakota. Shipping will most likely be set at a flat rate of 100 bucks or so.

We just finished this first one a couple days ago, havnt had time to think about a GB yet. We still need to get the bumper added to our website first!

Does it provide a solid hard point for a hi-lift jack as well? Looks like it does, but I can't quite tell for sure. I can see it does provide recovery points.

I don't see it yet on the C4_Fabrication website. Hopefully it will be up soon.

We will have the bumper added to the website by Monday. To use a Hi-Lift, just put a recovery shackle in one of the front D-ring points and hook your Hi-Lift into the shackle.

I wish to buy one of these. I was looking at the CBI hidden front hitch for a winch option and not a full blown bumper: 4th gen 4Runner High Clearance Front Receiver Hitch | CBI Offroad Fab

But, this appeals to me more for a couple hundred more! I went to their website, and it's not listed for sale yet! Bummerrrrrr... Soooooon though :hungry::hungry::hungry:

Yeah you can get it with or without bullbar. Right now we do not have any plans to make a skid that attaches to it.

Damn you snapped one of those suckers! That's exactly what I'm afraid of. What did you do to remedy the situation? Can you replace them if you snap them?

We didnt do anything to remedy it, just left it as is. Like i said we werent worried about it since there are 4 studs on each side, plus we also provide an extra bracket that attaches to the back of the bumper and down to the side of the frame rail.

It might be possible to hammer the stud out with a punch or air chisel, then replace it with a regular bolt, but dont know for sure.

Shocked because it is low lol. Most full bumpers I see I am usually expecting ~$1000+ and then shipping. The $100 is definitely not bad but I just wish some companies were closer and I could pick them up lol. That's some new lights or something right there.

Oh wow. Good to know. Seems it is well thought out in terms of mounting! Props to you. I really want to get one, but I am truly fearful regarding the condition of my bolts. Like you said I could survive one snapped bolt. But if multiple snap I am SOL all of a sudden.
