Call me crazy?

Ok so I've had these 881's and 906's sitting in my room for a while now and have been thinking long and hard lately about upgrading to a 3" lift before I put them on (to save money by them not being "used").

Am I crazy for wanting to go through the hassle of selling these springs and shocks to go ahead and get the "Toytec Complete Lift Kit" or should I just stick with the 2" lift and call it a day.

I also have 9000xl shocks already but would have to sell these for the OME shocks if I went with the 3" kit.

I just don't want to get stuck getting the lift on and then realizing I want more lift. Let me know your opinions!

Based on the fact that you already have the new 265/75/16 tires, I would say stick with the 2" stuff you have. Those size tires look a bit small on 3+" lift.

Your 265's will look a bit smaller because of the tread design, but if you really want a 3" then go for it. All you really need are some 890's, which you might be able to trade with someone or buy used. Also a spacer for the front. The shocks are going to be the pricey item, but better to do it right the first time.

Or you can throw some small spacers in the back like Kellyj did with his 906's.

The tires were actually on the truck when I bought it, they aren't my first choice but work for now until I'm able to get something more aggressive (could be a while), I would like to stick with 265's though.

265 sounds like 2" is they way to go.

I'd have to agree....with 265's you might as well just stick to the 2" lift. If you were planning on 285's, then 3" would definately be in order....I personally love the lifted look, and wouldn't even mind having 35's with the truck lifted even higher.....but....more money to do it right....so I'm just gonna leave it alone! lol!

Honestly, your 2" lift with the 265's will look good, some people will know your truck looks different than stock....but may not really know why!

I don't know. Possibly school or just lost interest. I was planning on buying his 906's, but I found some downey coils instead. He was starting to do some big things to his 4runner.

He had a good set up and it equaled out to be a short 3", which looked fine. I think he was switching to get the full 3". Hepar, troutrunner and Gerdo also have 265's with a 3" and it looks good.

ScRunner, I might just do what you suggested and said kellyj had done, putting some trim packers in the back just to help with sag. I think thats the biggest reason I'm having some concerns with the 906's as I will be carrying 500+ of gear somewhat often.

That is a good question though where has he gone off too!?

Yeah it is an option and I probably will be doing it to my lift when I want to bump up to a full 3". If I remember correctly brian2sun put two on top of each other and they got a bit squeaky. It will give you a bit more room to sag for the time being and you can see if you want a 3". I bet you could find someone really quickly to trade you 890's for the 906's.
