camping in your T4R?

I followed Home on the Highway beginning to end. I think there website shows there set up for sleeping platform and storage. Awesome adventure I could only dream of. I would be a somewhat of a copycat if i planned to sleep in my truck for an extended period of time.

Edit: just looked at their site, didnt know they kept going after reaching ushuia (spellcheck). looks like ive got some catching up to do

Expedition Portal

I've seen a lot of sleeping platform/drawer storage systems over at Expedition Portal.
Some in the Toyota 4Runner section and some in the storage section

Slept in mine more than 100 times.

Those are the only times I can recall being pleased to be 5' 9".

To the OP, I use nothing fancy. Just a narrow 3 piece futon filled with high density foam laid flat. I travel very light and live in the truck a few days at a time so I need room to do that.

I lived out of a VW van one winter when I was working a ski resort. Lots of other guys in the parking lot living out of popups or camper vans or truck beds, a couple other employees but mostly ski bums. The resort had showers in the changing rooms they'd let us use in the early morning.

I dunno anything about these Hawaiians and their pubic showers though. Sounds hinky. :frisky:

:bounce: heck yes!! same here! I think i've slept in more parking lots than I have camping though!

OP- get a good sleeping bag if you don't wanna do all the insulation stuff. that's great don't get me wrong; but a good bag is all I have and it's mighty comfy!!
