can 15" rims fit my 99 SR5?

i have a SR5 and have a set of 15" off an 87 4runner and wanting new rimd and tires and would like these on. i tried to put them on but they hit, im running 33 12.5 but the rims are made for the tires so i dont have spacers so i cant try with them. any ideas?

Just a question.....but why do people try to run 15" rims?? Wouldn't you want to upgrade to something similar or bigger?

I know alot of old school rockcrawler guys used to run 15" rims, but I'm guessing that maybe that's because 16" rims were not the norm back then???

Honestly, I'd just stick with your skull rims man, and if you decide you want to run something different, keep an eye on Craigs List for a nice set.....

They can fit your 99, but it will take some grinding of the calipers and possibly the rims. 15's will also eliminate the possibility of doing the Tundra brack upgrade.

Fightman, people look into the 15's for a couple of reasons. First a 15" tire will have a larger sidewall for wheeling and 15" tires are cheaper than 16 and 17" tires. Other than that some do it for looks or they got a good deal on some used tires/rims.

well im looking for more mud tires. used not new, craigslist find. and i have a set of 15" of a 1 gen so if i could use those i can look for 15 and 17 tires. but i kind of want to get rid of the rims because they are hard to keep clean, and dont want to worry about ruining them. so if i can get rid of them i will, but if i can find 17 mud i will keep them. im not worried about breaks, but i dont want to start grinding on them.

I just tried this with a 94 Pickup and 99 4Runner sr5, both 4x4. The 94 Pickup has a really nice set of almost new BFGoodrich All Terrains and for whatever reason I assumed they would fit on the 99 4Runner, which had stock 16s. Unfortunately, the backs fit fine but the fronts got hung up on the brake caliper and protecting brake shroud Oh well, guess the buyer of the truck is going to get the new tires and I'll have to cough up some dough for fitting tires. Lesson learned.

they arent spaced right so i was asking if putting spacers on would help dumb a** :flipoff:
