Can a Supercharger made for a 3.0L Engine Fit 3.4L?

See question in title -- The reason I ask is because I keep failing my California smog test due to the EO sticker not matching my truck (02 4Runner SE)..

The EO # on my sticker is D-425-6, which I am told is for 3.0L engines (94-2000 Camry, 94-99 Avalon, 99-2000 Solara, and 98-2000 Sienna).

My Question -- Do I have an incorrect sticker, or was the incorrect Supercharger potentially installed on my truck? In my mind a Supercharger made for 3.0L engines would not fit a 3.4L engine, but I don't know enough about autos to be sure.

If I remember correctly the intake runners on 3.0 and 3.4 are completely different so I don't think this would be possible without extreme modifications. One easy way to find out for sure, look up intake gaskets for both engines and see if they are the same or compatible with one another.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there's no fricken way a supercharger for any of the models listed in your post would fit on a 3.4 4runner. You probably have the wrong sticker.

But a photo would determine for sure.

if your SC is running, on your 3.4... then the sticker is wrong.

The S/C for that engine uses the same Eaton M62 blower, I'm not sure where the sticker is on the S/C for either one, but it may be possible that if it's on the blower itself it started life as a 1MZ-FE setup that somebody salvaged the blower out of for their 5VZ setup.

Yep, the M62 is a very popular s/c...used on also Buicks, Olds and Pontiacs

I tried that based on some other things I have read.. They ignored it and said that if the sticker doesn't match it's an automatic fail. Working on locating a sticker now..

if you cant find that sticker, you might consider just having one made. its not a certified document or anything, it simply states the part numbers and carb executive order to declare it legal.
