Can u fit 15" wheels w 16" calipers if you grind a little

im going to try 15in steel wheels with 3.5bs maybe with a 1/4 wheel spacer. what are you running

i have a 1.5" spacer in front, with whatever those wheels are (they are the stock 1985 alum 15" wheels).

use about a 1.25" spacer should clear fine idk about the stock wheels but any after market 15 should fit i would think. i had a set of 15s on mine the other day to make sure that they wouldnt rub my caliper and i had plenty of room granted i have a 1.5" spacer but i think a 1.25" would do just fine

i would rather not use a spacer. im ordering new pro comp steel wheels. need to know if 3.5BS will be enough or maybe even 2.5BS.

i feel like you'd be fine with mickey thompson classic II's. they have 3.25 backspacing. 2.5 has the tires stick out stupid wide. plus they're aluminum.

those are 3 times the price of the procomps. i think 3.4 will be good but some pics of cordrays caliper would help.

I used a flap disc wheel on the grinder. Took off maybe a 1/16" off of the high sections of the caliper. All I did was put the 15" wheel on. Put a few lugs on. Snug down. Take a marker and mark where the contact is. Pull off the wheel grind. Check. Grind. Check grind Then you're good. Be sure to paint caliper to keep it from rusting. Also paint to ensure no contact is occurring.

look on ebay and ih8mud. i honestly see these wheels for sale ALL the time. if you're patient i know you can get a dirt cheap set.

i would think since the aluminum needs to be thicker that i would need to grind more?

can you post some pics of the caliper that you ground down?

what are you even talking about? grinding the wheel or the caliper

TO CLEAR THE AIR. I did not grind the wheels AT ALL. ONLY THE CALIPER

Caliper. Aluminum wheels are thicker so you would need to take that off the top of the caliper. I still need to grind more because the new wheels are not 100% round and bind up at one point on the wheel. Here are pics of what I did. Do yours look like this?
