canadian spec 4runner odo, KM or MI?

there is no mi or km designation on my odo, so i don't know if i have 200K km or 200K mi kind of a difference there....

(most measurements in the truck are metric but speedo is in both mi/km)

What i can suggest is drive on the highway with a stopwatch, rest the trip meter and drive for 1 mintue doing 60mph, if the trip gauge is at 1 than it is in miles, if it is at 1.6 than it is km's.

Which set of numbers is on the outside of the speedometer? Is it Km/h or mi/h that is on the outside? There should be two sets and the one that is larger or more predominant is the one that will tell you if the car's odometer is km's or miles.

You can see the outer ring on the speedometer is km/h. The US spec one will be mph on the outer ring and that's how you'll know.

Look at the more dominant measurement on the speedometer (outside ring).

It should also say on one of the under hood stickers if it is US or Canadian spec.

i know it's a Canadian spec as when i got to the dealer with my vin they tell me they can;t pull up anything, well that and the sticker you've mentioned i saw that before as well, me and johnd90 were talking about this and just got me to thinking. lol

funny thing is i drive by feel not the speedo, i tend to speed abit like 5 over most of the time, but yeah it's miles on the outside, lol



and now i am even more pissed off the only metric measurement on my 4runner is the in cabin and out side air temp, dammit!:50cal:
