Depends on the package that your local tire retailer is putting together I suppose. I would try to source Toyota hub centric take offs (steelies) rather than an aftermarket multi fit rim that may not be at the precise offset for example. Or as the previous poster said, stick with OEM including the rims. Maybe you can source some SR5 aluminum rims someplace.
Its not a problem to drop to a 16" mind you providing you compensate with tire height or at least that would be the recommendation. The OEM width would be desirable as well but a thinner tire will likely come cheaper too.
You're truck is brand new, the stock tires should do fine especially with the options our trucks carry. I'm going to go through another winter with my stock tires but I don't drive far for work and its all city. Not worth the investment right now for me...

I went with OEM size on my 2016 Trail Edition Premium. It was a good choice.
For what it's worth I am usually a fan of Yokohama tires but I don't like their winter tires. I put the Firestone snow tires on my SUV's and I really like the Altimax Artics for my cars.

There are a few options in 255/75R17. Only slightly skinner, bit of height. There is a new Blizzak LT that comes in load range C in that size that I will look at, but no reviews that I can find yet. Also Winterforce LT. I am very happy with my K02s in LRC and do drive some logging roads in winter so would like the reassurance and tread depth of the LT, so seemed like a good option to me.

I run OEM Limited wheels with Blizzaks in OEM Limited size but honestly Hakkapellitas are the way to go, if you do lots of snow driving skinnier is better, if it’s ice and or cold conditions wider is good.

I was under the impression that a skinnier tire was better during the winter?
Where do you live OP? I lived in Alaska and even there you could manage running an all terrain tire during the winter so long as they had good tread and you had AWD or 4WD.

I would go with the xice2 with the rebate and non-LT load rating of the Blizzak.
All three are comparable, used the older DMv1 and now the xice2 and I THINK the xice2's have a more pleasant highway hum.
Definitely stick with the 265 width.. worst feeling in the world when you get a puncture and the shop you bring it to does not have a replacement because you got a special order odd size and they are in the boonies.

They are cheap, perform very well in deep snow, slush, sleet and even on ice.
The are AT tires that you can use over summer, comes with snow flake. Perfect for Midwest and Southern Ontario. They are not MT, that is the only downside.

Not during winter, during snow. The more tire that touches the ground the more traction you will have. In snow a wider tire is more prone to floating on top of snow, granted the weight will pack it down but wider tires will stay on the snow, skinnier tires will do a bitter of job cutting through and grabbing the ground. The skinny vs wide is like walking with snow shoes vs hiking boots - the wider footing will keep you on the snow.
