Car cover if my paint is trashed?

Hey all,

Just wondering if there's a car cover anyone can recommend for parking outside and under trees in Colorado? I'm not super concerned about it scratching the paint since the paint is already well scratched. I'm more concerned about just keeping it somewhat clean when it sits for a couple weeks in between camping adventures, or snow adventures in the winter.

I drive it for a weekend, wash it when I get home, it looks great...for about 24 hours. Then it's back to a spotted leaf covered mess, and it feels useless to wash it at all.

I know coverking makes good stuff, but open to recommendations. Hoping to keep it under $150-ish.

Have you looked into Monstaliner? We did my buddies in their Alpine White, looked amazing. Ran about $300 for the whole thing. It's very hard to tell that he hasn't washed it in 6 months.

Hilarious. I'm sleeping on that exact same air mattress for a couple weeks while staying at a buddies house. $7.97 from Walmart - not bad actually, I've certainly slept in less comfortable accommodations. I bought that one thinking that I may use it in the back of the Runner while camping.

Except its much cheaper, easier, and faster. Also, ML is much less vulnerable than traditional paint, so if he has concerns of exposure to the elements, this might be a better choice.

Only issue is it can be a pita to clean. My brother's bumpers are lined and they hold dirt like a mofo. I think Plasti dip would be better since it comes off but won't protect worth a shit.

Honestly, knowing me, I'm not going to do any sort of paint or liner coating. I appreciate the suggestion though!

I guess I'm just looking for the best inexpensive cover recommendation. If anyone has experience with something under $150 from Covercraft or something like that.

Like I said, I wash it, and a day later it's disgusting since I have to park outside and under trees. Not even disgusting in a fun "I've been off-roading through mud" way either, just spotted from the afternoon sprinkle/dust blow around, tree sap, leaves, branches, etc. I'd rather be the one who gets it all dirty doing something fun.

I just want something to throw over it for the 5-12 days in-between uses. Does such a thing exist?

I was looking for those pics of your friend's 4runner. I would be very tempted to go this route if my paint starts to fail. Have any pics of the application and what it looks like today?

Also [MENTION=101600]hour[/MENTION] has what I feel is a cool ML thing going on. Do these things fade with UV rays?

Here's the original thread on the whole project. ML guarantees fading for quite awhile IIRC, but remember, very few materials (none that I know of) are truly 100% UV proof.

Oh, and he says it looks identical to the day we painted it. This stuff is ridiculously tough.

The four options I can think of are this...

1.) Call a few places that actually commercially wrap vehicles. Get some ideas on price, probably expensive, but hey, you'd know. Gets some ideas on durability.

2.) We don't see a lot of plasti dip applications of entire 4runners here, mostly grills and emblems. The grill, over time, will give you the best case real world scenario for what it will look like down the road.

3.) Go on to some street car enthusiasts forums where this is more common. They might be a great resource for expectations.

4.) Wings it. Tell us how it goes. Document what you did, used, price, and throw some updates in to make it easier for the next guy.

Have you heard of Monstaliner? Sometimes abbreviated as ML.
