Hey everyone, my first post and I needed help with something. My 4Runner is a 1998 Limited 4Runner with 3.4L 3378CC V6 engine. A couple weeks ago, my car crapped out and broke down in the middle of the night. I tried restarting the car but to no avail, hearing nothing but clicks. This was after everything in my car dimmed and then just struggled across an intersection. However, I was able to make it home with some help. I had just recently changed the battery a couple weeks prior so figured it might not have been it. Tested it at the local Advanced Auto Parts shop and they said the battery was drained and needed to be charged, which they did. After that, it worked fine but I was still weary about driving it like normal. I read some forums where people said the clicks I heard when my car broke down was due to the alternator and that basically, it was draining the battery itself. Anyways, I had the alternator tested at AAP and they confirmed it was the alternator. So I bought it, had my dad and brother install it, and now, with everything hooked up, the only things that seem to work are the door open "ping", the dashboard lights but when I go to start it, nothing, not even an attempt by the engine to turn over, happens... just silence. So "new" remanufactured alternator and new battery from AAP. We figured it was a cable or something that became loose but I'm not too sure what else it could be! :redbrick: P.S the alternator is made by Worldwide- 70 amps and the battery is AutoCraft Gold 640 CCA if that helps.
