Cargo Net Factory Option Years

Anybody know what years the 3rd gen had a factory option for a cargo net?

I was at the local pick-n-save and found a cargo net in really nice shape with a Toyota tag. There are little black plastic screw in clips for the body panels that the net hooks into.

It came off of an '02. When I got home to put it in my '99, I realized I don't even have any holes for the screw in clips..


I'm not taking about the cargo shade cover, but the nylon net.

Found a solution!

Since my 4runner doesn't have the holes/screws for the net, and I didn't want to add holes, I hooked the loops on the top ends on the net around the cargo shade tabs that keep it in place when extended.

I'll probably never use the net, but it makes me happy just to have it. Lol

I didn't know any 3rd generation 4Runner ever came with a cargo net. My 97 didn't (I don't think) and I've never heard anyone discuss one (till now) and I have never come across one in a junk yard.

So if they actually exist — i want one.

nah started at least by 01, my limited 01 came with em.

Handy for most any object EXCEPT bungie cords!!! :cowboy:

Not my car, but definitely a factory option.

Two of the '02 4runners I looked at had the black plastic hook things threaded onto a permanent bolt in this location.








Note: the factory net doesn't have anything to hook to the d-rings

Mine was a dealer add on.

Gulf States Toyota B6 option, "The Extra Mile".
Came with glass etching of the vin, wheel locks, Rs3200 alarm, tow hitch, roof luggage rack and others.
1400 option as per my window sticker.
Long story short, I think you have to drill the holes.:cheers:

My '00 Limited had one

My '98 didnt have one. Bought one from dealer and installed it. Had to drill some small holes for mount. Really easy!!

My '00 limited has the hooks, but I am the 3rd owner and the net didn't make it into my possession. I like the idea. I've broken a small number of things that shifted during transport and fell out when I opened the tailgate.
