Carista question

For those of you that use the Carista ODBII dongle and Carista App on a 5th Gen, does it give you the option to:

  • change the TPMS sensor setting? I'm running KO2s at 40 psi. Stock setting is 32 psi
  • turn off the beeps when you lock/unlock doors?
  • roll down all windows, including rear lift gate, with the key fob?
  • turn off seat belt chime?
There are posts here and comments on amazon that some of these are and are not doable with the $9.99 1 week fee. On top of the $39.99 cost of the dongle.

Thanks.

I bought the $20 lifetime membership in case I want to change anything. I don't have TPMS so I'm not sure about that and I didn't mess with my lock/unlock beeps, but I think it did allow some customization there. The important part of this post is that the key fob window actuation is for the passenger windows only. The lift gate and moonroof are on different circuits so they don't work with the key fob.

Mine did all of those things your asking except for the tire pressure.
I bought mine so I could change the passenger seatbelt alarm for my dog setting in my 4Runner, and also turn off daytime running lights in my Jetta TDI and seatbelt warning too.
One downside of using Carista is that I can no longer turn on just the amber parking lights without the headlights on. I know mine use to work this way before I added Carista because I took a road trip soon after buying the vehicle and slept at a rest stop and forgot to turn off the amber lights for a couple hours. I turned off the headlights but didn't rotate the switch far enough to off.
Another note, when I purchased 4 months ago there was no longer a way to buy the lifetime membership for a cheap discounted rate. I emailed them and they said that option was removed. I found searching online for the backdoor options too for the lifetime and these have all been removed.
I changed some settings on my Jetta TDI and this ended up locking me out of the car where neither of the two key fobs would work. I ended up having to mess around for a hour before I could get it to work. I think I ended up having to change the batteries in both fobs.
I found there customer support to take a little too long for MY needs. No phone support only email that was taking 3-4 days with no results so I gave up. I hate emailing people when there's a problem as I prefer to talk to people instead. Quicker results.
After my results I'm a little less hesitant to recommend Carista.

Thanks for that. I'm doubtful too, especially if I can't get the TPMS sensor changed. That's the must-have for me, the others are all nice to have.

I've also tried a couple of times with the Techstream software, but have never been able to get it to connect to my car.

What do you guys like about Carista?

What other apps do you use with it, and what are their advantages and disadvantages?

...I ask because I ordered one today to try TPMS, but now I see that is not going to happen. Basically, should I cancel my Amazon order now, or get it and see if I like it.

I am replacing my ScanGauge II (which is going to my wife's Subaru Forester XT).

Do you know of a better tool to use other than Carista?
