CBI Offroad Aluminium Front Bumper

Hi,
I am in the process of sorting the Aluminium front bumper from CBI. The dealer I contacted has warned me that the suspension on my TRD PRO will sag a fair bit once installed with a winch and lightbar.

1) Has anyone installed an aluminium CBI bumper on a 2019 plus TRD PRO (Fox shocks). I wanted to wait until I had the rear bumper on and all the weight before I upgraded the suspension.

2) Which Baja designs SAE fog lights model fit the bumper? The round ones? Do you need the 4runner kit or just the lights?

I may upgrade the suspension with a cheap OME kit to tide me over then put something more expensive on later.

I installed a victory 4x4 blitz bumper warn vr12 and 20in rigid bar in the rigid Metal grill my truck sagged a bit but not terrible then I went to a bp51 suspension now I have a slight reversed rake cornfed are next for the rear

Awesome. I haven't decided on suspension and want to get that done at the same time as the rear dual swingout bumper. I noticed the Smittybuilt with synthetic seems to be lighter than Warn. I will probably go with that. I already have a dual compressor and second battery under the hood though.

I had a Dobinsons lift installed with heavier front and rear springs prior to my steel CBI. It sagged it noticably. Even the tires rub the mud flaps now on back up turns. The steel one is 200# IIRC.
In regards to the fogs, I did Diode Dynamics for 4Runner. They have an angled shroud that matches the bumper well. Not sure if BD does the same on their 4R specific ones.

Awesome. The Aluminium one is supposed to be half the weight of steel so hooping it won’t sag too much.

The only reason I choose Baja over DD is because of wanting a complete uniform look. I’ve got a BD S8 lightbar going in. I have chosen all amber. I just wanted them to match.

I think the DD fogs are much better value for money. BD had issues with their dogs getting sae rating. I think they have sorted it now. But they are expensive.

With the bumper alone you're looking at probably 60lbs. I think that's what CBI said their aluminum bumpers weighed? Then if you are adding a winch you have to throw on another 60lbs minimum, more likely it'll be closer to 80lbs, but it can vary. Light bar and fogs add weight, but nothing that'll make that big of a difference.

Keep in mind if you have rock sliders, skid plates, roof racks, roof top tents, etc, these all will play a roll with the front suspension as well.

I have a '17 so I'm not sure how well they compare to the fox shocks and what the Fox ones can handle, but with the 2" TRD Pro Lift from Toytec for the Bilsteins, I still had a good amount of sag. Had I not had the 2" spacers (which is what the lift really is) it would have sat lower than stock no doubt in my mind.

As far as fogs, yes you'll want the circle style ones. Their official name is the Squadron. Those are what fit perfectly in the CBI style cutouts. Same with C4 and others.

I don't think you need a new suspension, especially when you can adjust compression, but you might want to find the same size coil in a stiffer form to help with the weight. With what you're doing a 600lb should work fine. Assuming that can be done on those shocks.

Interesting about needing the brackets. Would have thought the standard brackets that come with the Baja's would work, but I guess CBI could have had a different mounting setup. I have a full C4 bumper now and theirs have a hole spot at the top to run the standard brackets.

At long as you got it figured out that's what matters most.

Yes, with all your added weight you'll likely see some sag. Of course the easiest option is to put it on and see if it's too bad you can't handle it or not, then upgrade or upgrade coils. As mentioned before not sure if that can or can't be done, but worth looking into before dropping big money.

But I can say if you plan to do off-roading, an off-road suspension setup makes night and day difference.
