So I know what the CDL does but I've heard mixed messages on when to engage. I have a problem when I take off from a stop while in 4WD my 01 4R will "die" meaning it will lose power and crawl forward. I live in Chicago so that's not exactly safe. To stop this I can engage the CDL but have been told on wet pavement (rain/snow) I will tear up my transmission. If that is true, how do I get better traction in light snow on pavement without engaging the CDL?
