M Morphyne New member Sep 21, 2016 #2 Why so much rust? Because the calipers get extremely hot and destroy the sub par finish that is added to these calipers. I would use a wire brush to knock off the rust before painting. Last edited: Sep 21, 2016

07V8 Member Sep 21, 2016 #3 Uncoated carbon steel rusts. It's clearly documented in the caliper thread.
