changing the engine

Dear All
I have recently bought a 4runner 1992 with a 2.4 L corroborator engine for off-road. Some times i feel it would be better to have more power. Does any body know how much more power give me a 3L V6 injector engine. and also is it easy to replace a 2.4 L with a 3L v6?

That would really be a total waste of time and money and a lot of work.
Swapping in the EFI version of your engine, the 22RE) (or even converting yours to EFI) would be better. Or the later (96+) 3RZFE 2.7L 4 cyl.

I just put a rebuilt 22re into my runner and couldnt be happier. Do not put the 3.0 in, they only give 30 more horsepower, they blow headgaskets like its their job and they arent nearly as reliable as the 22re. If anything I'd do the 3.4 but unless your good with electrical it'll be more work than its worth. When your crawling you dont need power.

Also I havent researched it but theres a good chance theres no adapter to make it work with original transmission and tcase, so you'll be switching out the whole drivetrain as well which is more $$$
