Check engine and VSC lights

I own a 2003 runner and back in Feb my check engine light came on and soon after the VSC light came on. I pulled the code for engine and it was one of the front O2's and the VSC light was the YAW sensor out of calibration. Unfortunately because of financial situations we could not get them fixed at that time. Now today I go out and start it and both lights were off. I know of the check engine light going off after so many key cycles without the problem happening again it will shut off but that is a rare thing to happen but the VSC light's? that one has me puzzled. My question is will that light go out too after so long? Will it recalibrate all by itself? That one has me puzzled. Any help would be appreciated on this and thanks in advance.

I too have this problem right now, engine light traction control and vsc lights all on/flashing. Haven't pulled a code yet for lack of a reader. I'm at 98k and wondering if it's a dealer thing so you bring it in for the 100k service? a quick search is saying all kinds of different possibru outcomes...what mileage are you at on yours?

Certain codes will recalibrate if it was a freak thing but the majority of the time, you need to have it scanned and see what the code is. Those lights come on when something is wrong and it has nothing to do with maintenance.

Get it scanned and post up the codes and we'll try to help out. Places like advance auto will do free scans for you. Or pick up a $20 scanner and keep it in your glovebox.

got same problem now . After I replace my manifold forgot plug in sensor. I drove my car about 10 km than these lights came on . I tried disconnect battery but it doesn't help.
should I use OBDll reader to reset this code ?

I would try to find someone with a a Techstream/TIS.

In these trucks as in the case of many Toyota. Vsc tracs and check engine all come on at the same time when there is a cell triggered.

Zero point calibration would need to be performed when the vehicle is scanned with a scan tool not a code reader. Look up zpc on this forum and it shall yield you several results. It's easy to do and best of all free!

I would suggest a $25 techstream scanner from eBay over the $20 scanner since the techstream can do many many more things than the code reader as well as read codes for your Toyota.

I scan mine with Torque on Android using a OBD11 bluetooth device you can get on amazon or ebay. It will read any fault codes and then look look them up on the web if you want. I think it can reset them as well but haven't tried yet.

I recently put in a "filter minder" and all the warning lights came on soon after. Torque confirmed my suspicion that the filter minder was the likely culprit.

While this was happening, my Maint light was on too. While trying, incorrectly, to reset the maintenance light by using the wrong reset button (the one under the stereo instead of below the odometer) and holding down while starting the car all the other warning lights went off. Since the Maint light was still on, I realized my mistake. Now I wonder if the warning lights can be reset this way or it was just a fluke?
