My o4 4runner limited has the check engine light along with the vsc track lights. Had it scanned and replaced the 02 sensor Bank 2 sensor 1 That advanced auto said was the problem. Made sure the gas cap was sealing properly also. Still having the same problem
does anyone have any knowledge that can help? 129471 mileage this is the v8.

Toyota has programed these o2 sencor and many other sencors to make people think they are in great danger if they do not quickly go to their dealers non service departments, example my 2008 sr5 4Runner had both the check engine light and a flashing skid control light blinking, what was really wrong is the gas cap needing cleaning and some grease applied to oring did it and problem solved.
These check engine lights have made Auto Parts Stores like Auto Zone and O Reillys gobs of money selling people many parts they really don't need.
The gas fume charcol can has caused many check engine lights to light up, or be found by these Auto Parts Stores using their code scanners, these charcol cans are defumed by a system timer and will be fine without having them replaced, just another of the Governments clean air dealings and Toyota and other Mfg's making money fixing things that do not need fixing.
Unless your 4Runner quits i would just keep driving it just my 2 cents on this subject.
I also would like to add that Harbor Freight sells a great tablet scanner the Maddox Mr 16 it's made by the same company INNOVA Electronics that sells the exact same hardware there SDS 43 but costs over a hundered+ less, with this scanner you will nolonger need those Auto Parts Stores to let you know whats going on with your Auto and Trucks also you can reset those stupid check engine lights. :hunter:
