Check engine,Brake,ABS,VSC Trac light all on..

While driving back from the Thanksgiving Holiday a few weeks ago, The notification lights for check engine, brake, abs,vsc trac all turned on while driving down the highway. At the same time the radio, ac/heater, turn signal, speedometer, and power windows went out as well. The weird thing is that the interior lights, headlights, and rear brake lights are still functioning. I replaced the battery yesterday and checked the voltages while the car was running. I was getting around 12.4 Volts. After reading some of the threads, could the alternator be bad? If so, would a bad alternator cause all of the issues I'm encountering? Any help in the matter is much appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like the alternator is done, voltage should be north of 13v when idling/running. It could cause the issues you described if the vehicle was running off the 12v battery while driving (I've experienced this before in one or two other vehicles).

Have the alternator tested and replaced if it fails before your new battery gets chewed up.

12.4v running is considered discharged generally speaking. Sounds like what happened with my Jeep a few years back. Time for an alternator.

Autozone will hook up their tester for free if you want confirmation. I just did this last week and it read 14.1v at idle.

I appreciate the responses! I took out the alternator and got it tested at AutoZone. The alternator tested good, so I reinstalled the alternator and still getting the same results. I am currently getting 12.4 Volts while the engine is in idle. The radio, ac/heater, power windows, turn signal, and speedometer isnt working. I am also seeing the trac, abs, and brake indicator lights as well. Any thoughts or recommendation is much appreciated. Thanks
