Check out Treadwrights, they are retreaded off road tires. I am running their mud terrains right now, the set of 5 shipped to me was 450 bucks! I have been impressed with them so far, can't say anything about wear as I haven't had them for very long.

See if there is a used tire dealer in town

I know one around here that buys dealer take off's

In other words, a new car dealer wants to add aftermarket rims and tires to the vehicle, then the tire dealer has a new set of tires .... but he can't sell them as new - even if they only have 10 miles on them, they can't be sold as new
