Christmas/Birthday List

Hey guys. So Christmas is coming up and my birthday is a week after christmas. I was wondering what would be a good solid christmas/birthday list to give to my parents/relatives. So far I have just put a cb in and a roof basket and some plasti dip.

A good start would probably be the Daystar budget boost and some spidertrax wheel spacers. Or if it's in the budget a toytec, tjm, or ome lift and some tires. My 4Runner Christmas list has my family cringing

Perhaps maintenance items if you need anything done such as brakes, spark plugs, drive belt, filters, fluids etc. But I am quick to jump on suspension lift and tires.

How about appreciation for what you have. Work more hours to afford these things you really don't need.

Weird question... If I received a "wish list" from my son or family member I'd come unglued.

How about appreciation for what you have. Work more hours to afford these things you really don't need.

Lol. I think this really shows the age variety we have on the forum.

In my home growing up the wish list stopped when I became school age. Christmas was then mostly about things that were needed for school & related after school activities.

I think families grow up differently and it is really interesting to see how different folks react to holiday questions.

was just talking about this to my mother the other day. i used to dread getting things like clothes for christmas or birthdays, i wanted all the fancy toys. now all i want are clothes. full circle

I think by a certain age (especially if you are making money) it should be an exchange of gifts in the spirit of the holiday. It shouldn't be about wanting your parents to buy you something that you can't get. I pay for everything I do to my truck and if I want something bad enough I save my money and get it. But it's nice to be able to sit down and celebrate the holiday and give someone something they have wanted. You shouldn't have to stop celebrating a holiday just because you're past a certain age.

I do work to afford the thing I want. And the lift and tires would go a long way because some of the roads at our hunt club are not well maintained and need to be accessed by a vehicle with good ground clearance. Also a good upgraded suspension will help with sag when towing our trailer for our 4wheelers. I'm not trying to come across as a spoil kid cause in most cases I'm not. Just my parents wanted an idea of what I would enjoy as a christmas present.

I was just trying to figure out some cool mods that I could do to my truck for Christmas. Trust me, a lot of the things that I want I work for and pay for with my money that I made

I think it is a good sign that the economy has started to expand and peoples life's are starting to return to normal. When the market contracted a lot of people sold their toys and did away with things like hunting clubs/hunting leases. Seeing younger folks having trailers with 4-wheelers and being members of hunting clubs is a good sign. You sir are off to a good start.

I would suggest looking at coil-overs from King, Fox or Icon. They will provide the lift you desire for off-road combined with awesome ride quality. They cost a tad more than some of the basic kits, but they are worth the extra. I loved my Fox setup.

The OME 885/895 is a solid workhorse setup. Just be warned that some folks find the rear shocks a tad firm (truck like). Overall it will perform great, I would encourage you to keep a little weight in the back. This weight takes the edge off the rear shocks.

Definitely. Actually with some of the money I made over the summer working I went out to Lowes and picked up some plywood and supplies and built a rear storage box. Probably weighs around 70 pounds with some gear in it.
