City gas mileage with aftermarket...additions

To paint a picture of what I am working with:rocksliders, hwm with winch, 285/70r17 nitto ridge grapplers, 3in toytec ultimate bilstein lift, total chaos UCAs, k&n cai. Let's say 250 added lbs

As my daily driver I am getting (drumroll please) 14.6 mpg *very beefy,much pride* in the city

How's everyone else doing with mileage on their rigs after adding to their aggressiveness?

I'm getting 14.5 in the city with a King lift, 285 Ridge Grapplers, SW bumper and sliders, and full RCI aluminum skids.

13.2 mpg on my readout. Jumps to 13.5-13.6 on long road trips.

Steel armor throughout plus winch. Will be adding a steel rear swing out probably this year so mpg will continue to drop. Probably expecting it to reach the mid-high 12's.

Huge drop in fuel economy when I go below ~40% of my miles being highway miles.

285/70R17 C-Rated KO2s (5 including the spare) +50lb
TruckVault Drawers +200lb
Full RCI skids +100lb

350lb of extra weight.

What are you using for telemetrics analysis?

I'm around 17 highway (neutral wind), 16 city. 2.5" Dobinsons lift, wheel spacers, 265 KO2's, shrockworks sliders. My lift/spacers where installed a couple weeks ago with shockingly little to no impact on my indicated fuel economy.

Are you guys recalibrating your computers for larger o.d. tires?... or rather is it necessary on a Toyota?

I come from GM world where when you put 33s on you speedo/odometer is off.

I switched to MT's and took a 1 MPG hit. I'm averaging 14.3 on the readout. With the AT's, I was at 15.4. I live in the Los Angeles area so stop and go traffic is a killer on the MPGs.

Speedometer should read a little more accurate supposedly moving up from 265/70r17s. I would say very likely according to how gps has me traveling comparison to cruise control. When you go above 33s though you should recalibrate

Interesting.

I remember when I had my Frontier there were rumors floating around that all Frontier speedometers were calibrated for Pro4x tires, perhaps Toyota did something similar.

Yup! I travel frequently for work. I installed my lift/spacers between trips (220 miles round trip) and checked each time (resetting for each trip). I'm actually traveling on the road again today and was right at 17 again with negligible wind.

I did NOT however fix my speedo for tire size changes between OEM and my KO2's. I'm 1mph slower than what my speedo thinks I'm doing. Mileage should be fractionally worse than posted by computer as well.
