Clicking Sound Near Brake Fluid Reservoir?

I just noticed this weird clicking sound today coming from under the hood, somewhere near the brake fluid reservoir. See the youtube video: 2000 Toyota 4Runner Clicking Sound Near Brake Fluid Reservoir - YouTube

Any idea what it is, or if I should be concerned? The engine was warm by the time I noticed, but it is cold out today, could that be a factor?

I have this same noise as well. Not sure what it is though.

Same noise here. I thought it might be a tapping lifter but it doesn't change all that much with engine speed.

I also have that random clicking sound, someone else told me it might be the idler arm but im not sure where that is. I hope you can diagnose and let us know!!

It sounds like your Purge Valve is working (clicking) as intended. No problem.

I also have that random clicking sound, someone else told me it might be the idler arm but im not sure where that is. I hope you can diagnose and let us know!!

The 3rd Gen 4Runner has Rack and Pinion steering. There is no Idler Arm on a 3rd Gen.

I was going to say check the EVAP solenoid. I had one on a Chevy by the gas tank that would click when the tank was full, but not to that degree.

Learn to live with the sound.
