My buddy just got a 98 with 134'000 on it. Now hes got an issue...When it's in park or neutral the car idles high ( 1500 rpm's). When he drives its fine. Check engine light came on and when we pulled the code it says po505.. Any solutions to help him? Please help guys...He just bought this and has 4 kids but he's stressing cause his rig runs like sh*t..Thanks...Sorry we also just put a new throttle position sensor and no luck...

hi the p0505 is the idle control system. so this will sound stupid but when my 4runner was acting smiler i cleaned the mass air flow censer and it fixed it.you can buy mass air flow cleaner at any auto place and then just blow it out with an air compressor. good luck
