Coilovers

He seemed like a pretty good guy on the phone. We'll see...

Now I need to figure out what to do with the rear suspension. I plan on only lifting the front 1.5-2". I want the rear suspension to be on par with the front so I think I'll go for Bilstein adjustables and a smaller OME spring.

Let me know what you end up with in the rear...sounds like we are looking for a similar end result (not a 3" lift). I'm considering the SS 3.0, but those SS coilovers look nice too. Then it's a matter of finding something that'll complement it in the back end. :hatsoff:

Well, I just got the email from Dave Leeper, he sold all his stock of shock parts and the coilovers are no longer available.

Same here:
Note from merchant
Hello Jonathan - We regret to inform you that we have sold all of our Shocks. The remains of the parts in inventory have also been sold. Your money will be refunded and sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for you support . LEEPER MFG

I'm pissed. I called him, and asked him if this was a mistake since I had already paid. He said he had nothing left. He estimated incorrectly, and ended up 4 shocks short. I was one of 2 lucky individuals I guess. He said the only option now is to buy icon or king. I explained those required substanitally more investment, and he said that's all he could suggest at this point. I am pretty disappointed. I'm not sure what I expect him to do at this point, but I think the whole thing was handled poorly.

Now it's difficult to go back to the OME plan when I had already been anticipating so much better. I've got to take a walk and cool this one off I guess.

I know he's had it harder than I have with this whole mess. I'm just annoyed.

I feel your frustration, however, Sonoran steel sells an "Econo" adjustable coilover for 499 (not assembled) and 630 for assembled and he will set them to whatever height you want. I'm disappointed too because that was a good deal but the Sonoran steel coilovers are just as good, he has a lot of experience with 4runners and he will set you up right. I'll be calling him in the next day or so to order mine!

Good luck with whatever you decide to go with!
