Colorado Front Range Meet and Greet

Doh, maybe I should've spoke up before the "tag you're it", I'll be camping that weekend and the next. The weekend after that is the holiday weekend right?
I could do a quick meet this weekend but I thought that may be out of the question, short notice ya know.

Haha I think I can do this day and time.

Apparently us CO 4runner owners are so busy out doing stuff we don't have time to meet other folks!

I am ok with this weekend or when ever, heck we can do both weekends.

What does everybody want to do?
 
I am open Saturday morning and am Mtn Biking Rampart Sunday morning if anyone wants to join.....
 
I'd say we could hit schubarth road down there as part of the meet but wow it's easy even though Wells classifies it as moderate. I'm in summit this weekend but I'd still be down to meet the following weekend sat morning.

There is an official Toyota meet and greet in Denver on June 29th

I have never gone to this. As I understand, this is more cars than 4x4. Some lifted vehicles can not get in the garage. At least this is what I have read from my FJ brothers.

I have no plans to attend it unless that is what this group decides to do.

There are a lot more Colorado 4Runners on t4r.org that have not chimed into joining a 4Runner meet and greet. I know some are in Denver.

If Denver is a better area to get together then that is where we should meet. I do not know Denver well enough to plan anything there.
 
While seeing some FJ's and tacomas might be cool I don't have any interest in the car aspect. That's just me...
 
Agree, I have little interest in the cars.

The garage is not tall enough for lifted FJs with racks and lights so most FJ owners don't go.

Maybe we should shoot for a weekend in July and plan for something up into the mountains? Could head out 285 towards Jefferson lake, there is wheeling, biking, and fishing, surely folks would have interest in at least one of those? Toss on camping and how could anyone not be all over it?

As of right now, the only weekend day I have off and am free in July is the 12th. I'd be down to drive somewhere on the 11th (Friday), camp, then wheel the next day.

Thoughts?
 
Are we planning to meet up this Saturday 6/21 at the Denver Bass Pro shop?

Or was that just a suggestion.

If we are can we get a showing of who is going to be there?

If so I would like to propose a 10:00 time and meet in the parking lot by the boat side. If there is a better place please say so, I have only been there a couple of times.

I could do this, but doesn't sound like most can? I'm in littleton so it's a fair drive across town.
 
I cant figure it out. So many nicely modded 4Runners around but it seems impossible to get together. Oh well no worries here.

I am in Colorado Springs so it is a fair drive across 4 towns, but then I like driving my 4Runner.

Yeah, definitely a haul for you from down south. I think it's that folks buying 4Runners do so many other sports here in CO so wheeling may not be top priority. I'm definitely up to meet at some point, don't give up!

Heck I was trying to figure out how I could meet up and still get a mtn bike ride in Sat so even wanting to meet up I still have challenges! I'm off to NC next week then in Summit county for the 4th. July 12th I'll have to be back up in Summit, but my new suspension goes in early July and I should have time to mount and wire up the new Rigid light bar, so I'll be ready after that. Hopefully by then some of the higher alt trails will be dry.

I really want to go over Webster Pass and come back via Georgia pass or something like that, ideally camping around Jefferson Lake that's why I threw out the 285 idea. Plus biking from Kenosha up to Georgia pass is nice as well, haha.

I'm having my new suspension installed that week, getting my truck back on the 11th I think, then have to be in Summit all day on the 12th. Bummer.

This is what we (4Runner owners) are missing out on. You are probably going to spend $400 or so on labor getting your suspension installed. Getting to know each other more than on a forum we could help each other and save some $$$$$ for more mods.

I don't mind helping out others where I can. There is a lot of knowledge and skills that we are not taking advantage of.

A few years ago I paid a shop to install a Toytec lift on our FJ and then paid to have them install a Daystar spacer lift on my 2003 4Runner. If I had the money I paid them in labor I could have a aftermarket front bumper. At that time I was new to Toyotas and the forums and lacked the confidence to do the work. Not today.

The FJ group is pretty tight and help each other a lot. I guess I would like to see that with all of the 4Runners around here too.
 
I will chime in now.. [MENTION=73242]Desert Fox[/MENTION] pretty much installed my spacer lift and it was a fun day. I totally agree with the point he is making, we should get together at least two times a year. Once to go wheeling and once as a whole family event, not saying the wheeling isn't a family thing.

Agreed completely, I'm coming from multiple jeeps, so the 4runner world is new to me. I lack time and tools, time being my biggest hurdle these days. I look forward to meeting up, heck I just want to meet up and hopefully find some fellow 4runner owners to hit trails with so I don't get stupid and go out on a trail alone and get in over my head. I've mostly just done easy to moderate trails for camping and I'd like to try some harder stuff
