That's a fluke Honda and is not indicative to their reliabilty by far.

Before I bought my new 4Runner last year I did substantial research online. I originally was looking at a new Volvo XC70 or XC90. I really wanted to get a new Volvo. But after reading many owners' comments and complaints on several Volvo blogs, I started getting more and more attracted to the 4Runner. (this site had a lot to do with that!)
Now I couldn't be happier with my 2006 SE. When I'm driving around and spot a XC70 or XC90 I say to myself, "what were you thinking?'

Interesting to read some other forums for vehicles on the "Bad Bets" list.
Seems those owners don't care for Consumer Reports very much.
Funny how those forums have posts about how the value of their vehicles
do not hold up as well as other vehicles and how their leases are impacted by that.

How can they wonder why their vehicles are not "Good Bets"???

I'm kind of suprised to see the Lexus ES there and not the IS & GS. From various forums, the ES seems to be the least reliable Lexus, and I have never heard of any major problems with the IS or GS.

The 1998 GS had more problems than owners are use to with a Lexus. The current ES has the transmission flares, not sure if it has been completely fixed. Both GS and ES were redesigned models, at it's time and present, respectively. The third gen GS, I haven't heard too many problems. Looking to get into a GS in the not so distant future.
