You have more portability and options with the separate stove, but the built in is more compact, stream lined and just plain cool.

I have a Coleman from my folks that's from the early 90's which I think is back when they made their stuff in America. I still have the original box and I couldn't find China anywhere on the box. So far she's held up great, but I would not buy one of their new made in China models.

I appreciate this thread and really like the stove. I'm on this forum because I have a 4Runner, and I have a 4Runner to take camping, so I think camping gear is very relevant. At TTORA we had an Expedition Gear section so stuff like this would go in it but since we don't have one here then I am totally fine with camping gear in this section. That's the JK stove, but I'm pretty sure it's made for them. I was considering taking this one, and mounting it into one of my drawers. I do think this forum needs an overlanding section thought.

Oh I know that. It's just not a big thing on this forum as we can tell from a couple comments on this thread. Overlanding is starting to pick up speed with all the people documenting their travels on Pan-American Highway. It's not a hard thing to do, and most of us can do it with our current set-ups. Then of course you also have people who plan on roaming for months, or even years that treat their vehicles like homes. Things like high quality stoves, solar, water filtration, and showers are all things that I think of. Also things that I'm trying to incorporate into my 4runner.

Yea I am working on a solar generator setup that integrates into my rig at the moment...so really enjoying seeing post on new product pop up from time to time
I guess edit your original post with a pic of your Rig with the Stove mounted up inside and issue resolved.

I'm not that close. I went with the 22" stove thinking that this would be the size we needed. After seeing the size of this I almost think I should have gone with the 18". I may have to build another platform to integrate this stove, and that's fine with me since I like building things.

They offer a repair kit that comes with everything you need including tool to do the work. It's nice the have one of these for a just in case situation

I look forward to reviews of the stove over time and being used as intended. I too am one of those people that have had multiple Coleman stoves that had to be replaced due to failures.

Yet every one of those ad nauseum threads have to do with 3rd gen 4Runners and are consistent with the subject matter of the particular forum they are posted in. Again, if we all were to start threads about our other interest the 3rd gen 4Runner forum would become irrelevant in its intended subject matter.

In all fairness. If you're going to jump my ass you should go after these thread too. If not you're been pretty bias, and discriminating.

It's too bad there's not a sub forum for this type of stuff. Overlanding, camping, etc. That's one of my favorite spots to hang out over on expo.

I actually talked to one of the mods on Friday about a sub forum for Overlanding. I've PM'ed the person the I need to, and hopefully I'll hear something back on Monday. I do agree that this forum would have a good turnout with a sub forum for Overlanding.

I think it'd also be interesting to see the things people come up with over here vs. expo. Quite a different demographic.
