A gas engine would do the same thing. It is a 43 degree incline, which is a nice hill. The cool thing about it is how easily it climbed. I'll bet crawl control was used.

0:12 - 0:18 and 0:46 - 0:52 ATRAC in action. You can see the left front wheel as it lifts off the ground "stutter" its movement as the truck climbs. I think a lot of the traction issues were relative to tire pressure that was a little too high.
Search Koos se Klip for more vids. funny how the different camera angles change the perception of how steep it is... but it still has major pucker factor!

I thought this vehicle was a 2010 but I'm not familiar with the Prado models. I only suggested the CC because of the way it seemed to maintain its speed so evenly/controlled. The thing that sticks in my mind is there are no do-overs. If there were any problems it would have been catastrophic.
