cornfed height question

i just bought a 2006 shadow SE 4runner, and i have a few questions regarding the cornfed lift...

regarding the 3 inch cornfed spacer lift for a 2003 + 4unner, why does the front get lifted 3 inches, and the rear 2?

i want to get the cornfed lift, but i'm thinking about getting 2" spacers all around b/c i want to keep the factory "rake" look, but with a lift. i'm asking this b/c after looking through all of pictures of cornfed lifted 2003+ 4runners, some of them look like they have a very very slight sag in the rear. the only picture that seemed like a perfect lift was from the_josh (your car is very clean by the way) so i'm not sure if it has to do with camera angles, or whether the lift height varies between cars. does anybody have an answer for this?

also, if i were to go 2" all the way around, will i still be able to fit 285/70/17's?

If you want to fit 285's you'll need every inch you can get up in the front. You run into problems at full lock (i.e. U-Turns) where the tires will certainly rub the frame. There is a high chance that w/ the stock wheels on the 285's you will experience rubbing on the upper control arms.

If you plan to get A/T tires then you may be able to minimize the rubbing but I highly doubt it as rubbing is certainly guaranteed. If you plan to offroad then rubbing is 100% guaranteed regardless of A/T or M/T tread.

With the cornfeds you can purchase 2"/2". Since they can be custom sized, you're free to set it to whatever size you feel comfortable.

Have you considered 275's? There are many members w/ 275's and have had no problems w/ rubbing with the associated lift. Check it out

Correct me if i am wrong, but the higher lift up front is as much for aesthetic reason as it is for tire clearance. The 4runner normally sits butt-high with the nose pointing down. This lift should make your 4runner more level.

Functionally - undercarriage, wheel wells - it's nose down. Until you load up the back. Aesthetically, it's perspective. The floor line says level, the top door line and wheel wells say nose down.

great, thanks for the info guys! although the 285's look pretty nice, i don't want to deal with rubbing so i'm gonna go with the 2"/2" with 275's. i'll post some pics as soon as it happens!

Just as a heads-up you have slight chance of rubbing the small black triangles in front of the tires in the wheel well with 275's. Seems to depend upon your wheel alignment settings. No big deal - just a cautionary note.
