Cost of R134a increasing

I will be heading to Wally World today to stock up on some refrigerant. The price just pumped 30% last week from $9.99 to $12.99. I have been watching this for a while. Newer cars have a different refrigerant, so demand will be less, and epa regs will put pressure on manufacturers to stop supplying it. I recall when R12 became unaffordable. Since I appreciate this era of vehicles, Im just going to stock up now for future repairs on this truck and any other I buy years from now.

I'm surprised the price is going up already, I thought the change was a recent one.

I just came back from Firestone for an alignment. I asked for the cost to evacuate my sienna’s AC. They quoted $350. No no, I just want it evacuated. No can do. We have empty and refill.

I guess I will have to destroy the ozone layer again. I aint paying $350 for $30 worth of 134a.

How do you all afford to own a vehicle when you dont do your own maintenance? Its criminal.
