Costco Batteries?

I need a new battery and am curious what the opinion of Costcos batteries are? I don't run anything other than the electronics (plus phone charger/etc) that came with the car and the rare air pump off the auxiliary in the bhog. There's a chance I could get a break receiver. I also live in Colorado so my climate is both warm and cold.

Costco sells Interstate regular (non-AGM) batteries, so they’re good.

The best feature for me was that they had a 36-month free replacement warranty, not prorated like a lot of battery warranties. Because of lack of use, I had to get two new batteries under warranty.

The benefit of the membership stores is they always seem to have better warranties. I'm rocking a BJs interstate battery that I picked up earlier this year after my 5year old interstate (purchased elsewhere) started having some really slow cranks in the winter. I also don't have anything fancy currently hooked up full time, so likely similar use to you

The Costco batteries are good, but their warranties used to be longer than 36 months. I still always get my batteries there, and have used their warranty coverage as they never seem to last as long as they should. But they are also a lot cheaper to begin with, and getting a warranty replacement is super easy.

Doesn't Costco double the manufacturers warranty, up to two additional years, if you charge the item on your Costco card? Or are automotive parts specifically exempt? Costco used to have a Kirkland brand of batteries that were significantly cheaper than the Interstate and were made by Johnson Controls but for some reason did away with them (at least at my stores).

Unfortunately Johnson Controls no longer makes batteries, they sold their battery manufacturing part of the company in May 2019, the company was renamed "Clarios", I found this out when I started having issues with new Everstart batteries sold at Walmart and used to be made by Johnson Controls but now no longer.

That may or may not be why Costco stop selling Kirkland batteries.

Someone should find a way to import the OEM Panasonic Batteries, I'd buy one for sure. Those things last forever.
