COSTCO DEAL ANYONE !!! ??? 2020 here i come MOVE !!

So the 4 runner I want is 43k sticker i saw spec sheet from dealer on a 2020 SR5 premium 4wd scheduled to arrive in november.

Anyone done a deal through costco auto program on a 2020 4 runner?

Only costco auto program deal I have done is in a 2018 yfz450r SE quad

Sticker $9299

Costco was 8829 plus tax title license THATS IT with NO BS FEES ADDED TO IT.
NO DEALER prep CRAP FEE NO DOC PREP FEE BS NOTHING THROUGH COZTCO.


ANXIOUS TO KNOW how far from 43k it goes. 39k maybe? Anyone know?

Had a few friends by with Costco. Said it was pretty painless and they quoted 5-8% savings over dealer quote.

I saved about$4300 when I used the Costco auto program. I’ve used it three times now and it’s been awesome. The dealership didn’t seem too enthusiastic though...

I’ve heard nothing but positive things. The only issue is that dealers won’t participate if you’re looking for limited run vehicles like a pro trim or Supra where the dealers can make >/= MSRP.

I tried Costco when I was looking for my cav blue, but none would bite a Costco request except to talk me down to an SR5 or tell me they would work with me but not through Costco.

I always go into the dealer starting out by saying "will you do Costco pricing" and go from there. Almost all of them do it around here.

I hate negotiating so I just generally accept the Costco price and haggle on the trade-in, but I'm certain people with bigger balls and more will power/free time than me could use Costco as the starting point for sales price negotiations.

Not on a 2020, but saved about 2k on my 2011.......but call AAA Auto, they will save you more and get you the exact t4r you want.

You might have to wait a bit while they find it, but they will. Once they secure it you'll spend no more than 30 minutes signing and driving away, with no BS

From what I have seen lately, Costco is coming in around 6-7% below MSRP on the 2020's - nothing here in SD yet though as I have asked to 2 San Diego dealerships that are on their list for Costco pricing and they have both told me they don't have that pricing just yet, but should by the end of October as more start to come in. At least for the model I want which is a TRD ORP with KDSS

My dealer is at about $2k off MSRP for 2020 with Costco Program. Which color were you looking for?

Dealer did 2500 under sticker off the bat with costco deal. 1st they tried sticker price game and later claimed they 4 got i was from costco. As soon as I got up instantly to leave they then brought costco pricing.

So i got it. 2020 SR5 premium 4wd.

I'll be the odd guy out on Costco Auto Program- back in 2015 I was shopping for a Ford Transit van- so I went with Costco.
What a PITA- I had 4 different Ford dealers contact me.

None of them even knew what a Ford Transit was!
They would call me up telling me they had just what I was looking for- then they would describe a Transit Connect.

A Transit Connect is a tiny van built in Turkey (IIRC) and sold here. Nothing like a Transit and about half the size. I was looking for the largest Transit 350HD extra long, high roof, dual rear wheels.

After explaining to them multiple times what a Transit was, I gave up on all of them and told them to quit contacting me. Did that work? HELL NO.

All of them kept calling me, one of them called me monthly for 2+ years. I would tell them I already bought and do not call me again. Had to finally threaten legal action to get off their phone list.

I will likely never try the Costco Auto Program again.

I did buy my van from a dealer 400 miles away that made it worthwhile to drive that far to get it- no BS sales tactics.

Just my 2 cents worth on the Costco Auto Program.

We used COSTCO buying my wife's van. There were only certain dealers that participated in the program, but it wasn't a big deal as it was just a few mile more than the other dealer. We actually negotiated down from the COSTCO price a little, so I think there is still room for dealers. Knowing that you can use that to your advantage if you go into negotiations without anything. "hey I'll go over to XYZ and buy this 4Runner for $$$, but I'd rather spend my money here"

Why is this a CostCo problem as opposed to a problem with the FORD Dealerships not knowing their product!

Don't they just feed into Truecar anyway? Maybe that was AMEX which was touting their car buying service to me. I'm in favor of making the process easy and if Costco does that, sounds good to me, but any service that just blasts out your information to multiple dealers without actively working on your behalf is no different than going to the manufacturers site, building the car you want and asking for quotes. It's not like Costco has any special leverage. Dealers don't think, "shit, we'd like to ask more for this car, but this guy has a Costco membership, so let's eat the loss. We'll get em next time." It's just another lead for them to follow.

I had this problem too for a work truck.

I needed a cab only and exposed rear frame.

It turns out that there are basically 2 types of dealers. Those that sell to a family or regular people and those that sell the specialty stuff like a transit van or bed-less trucks (cut offs).

I found mine out in the middle of the refineries on the bad side of town. It didnt have a single compact on lot, and dozens of F-650s and the like. Cool place.

Yup, bought mine from costco referral last year. After entering my info, costco sent me an email with a participating dealer within my area. Dealer gave me invoice price and I also received additional $1500 off from year end sale/promotions. Best thing I liked about the experience was how painless it was. Didn't have to negotiate for hours and still got a great deal. After agreeing to the price via email, I was in and out of the dealership within an hour
