Costco Pricing

I went on Costco this morning to price out a 2014 SR5 Premium 4x4 and the site said they don't have pre negotiated pricing for this car in my area. Has anyone else experienced this?

I live in St Louis, MO, looking to purchase after the first of the year.

I planned on just using Costco pricing as I have heard good things, hopefully I can get a lot negotiated before I go in there (purchase price and trade in).

Tried to buy my 2013 TE through the costco program and was told that it wasn't available.
I guess they don't have all models for all makes for some reason
 
i imagine toyota is filling up dealer inventory first before they branch out to 3rd parties.

I don't know too much about the program, but it has been in place for probably something like 10 years now. I'm pretty sure Costco corporate negotiates with local dealers and agree upon a set price for the vehicle and options.

You will get a good fair deal, but personally I have gotten better results by doing my own negotiating and research.
 
Costco's Zag program is a bit like walking in to a fleet manager's office.

Its better than MSRP without the headache, but you can probably get a slightly better deal if you go through the hassle of haggling with a salesman
 
I've used the program to guide me with my last two vehicles including the 4Runner. You need to buy whats in stock at the participating dealer to use the Costco program. Good Luck.
 
Turns out the dealer I went to doesn't have 4Runner Costco pricing and the salesman walked out on me while I was negotiating pricing. Called up a different dealer and bought from him, saved $4k too.

that would be the biggest issue when I bought mine. I specifically wanted only certain packages/options which were not the norm that my dealer usually picks.

What's in stock includes 4Runners on a vessel bound for the US. I got mine that way via a dealer trade. 2011 TE destined for Oregon was dealer traded for a Limited destined for Montana. Special ordering has been made so inconvenient and time consuming that most can find what they want on premises or thru dealer trades.

The nitrites/nitrates in those CostCo hot dogs stay with me all afternoon. Burp...

Saw a SR5 at Costco a few days back. Didn't know that the program was available in P.R.

I did my search this time around using both CostCo and USAA. Both use different dealerships and both give similar prices a few hundred-ish above invoice.

Use that to negotiate a different vehicle if you want. Of course everything is negotiable even if they initially tell you that it is "very strict pricing from CostCo that they have no control over." They will feed you that line of BS as well as other lines of BS because, well, they are car salesmen.

You should be able to shave some more off of that price, get a few goodies tossed in and if you are trading, that's where they will focus their attack if you let them. I walked out over the trade and 5 minutes later phone rang offering MORE than I initially asked for for my trade.
