Sometimes when driving you hear a sound like a stick breaking under a tire. Normally only under acceleration. Could this relate to my acceeration problem. Between 2600-3000 rpm with half throttle in second and sometime third gear you feel a front to back shake for a second. Because of this I normally shift at 2500. What could this be.

Scan it for codes. That sound I think you're hearing is your motor running lean at higher RPM's.
