Follow-up (sorry it took so long - I forgot): As I stated above, it is the fact that the LEDs are diodes, which only allow the current to go one way, that makes the circuit not work the same way as if you were looking at standard resistors.

If you try and check the resistance of the circuit (with just the LEDs), your meter will only work if you have the leads hooked up with the correct polarity wrt the LEDs. Otherwise, it looks just like an open circuit (which is likely what the computer is seeing).

Anyway, FYI.

Oh wow. That should have been obvious. I don't know why I didn't realize that. So the resistor must be in parallel to show some resistance.

Anyone know the replacement size for the non-LED bulbs in these? Emailed Burtman Industries and they were no help. They are apparently not the same size as the stock bulbs. Thanks

Pictures don't do these tails justice. These are super bright in person, look awesome, and are high quality.
