About a month I fell on this video on YouTube
YouTube
And I thought, Laaaaaaame! What a waste, useless mod.
Then I started to question the armrest in our Runners. The cheesy, flexible Softex, the almost spong-like padding, I decided to reach out to the upholster in the video to inquire on pricing. It was very reasonable, so I did it.
Kylin Brimhall is the guy, search him on Facebook and message him on messenger for your project pricing.
I didn’t want anything flashy, I wanted something near OEM but hell, I’m going through the trouble I might as well get a little something different.
I sent him my armrest lid (that cost about $8.00 in shipping) and my idea.
I rode around ghetto for a while,
He sent me a proof, and then boom...
It’s exactly what I was looking for aesthetically.
Functionally, Kylin added foam to the pad which changed it from an old dish sponge to a dense comfortable armrest. I think it took about a week maybe two because I had custom embroidery. With the Yoga block I didn’t really notice the time.
If you are looking to add some more comfort to your Runner, look up Kylin Brimhall, send him a message, tell him your heard about him on T4R.com.
