I thought I'd post a photo stream of a custom drawer system a cabinet builder buddy of mine built. It's all Maple hard wood and the drawer slides are 500lb. rated.

Thats such a good idea to take out the original carpet. I'm about to build a set of similar drawers and I'm going to possibly steal your idea. What are you using as handles? It looks pretty flush. Also the silver shiny stuff you're using on the floor, is that sound deadening?

I bought a set of these for my build. Just doesn't come with hardware but thats fine. For $15 bucks I can't complain. Those are the same as the "battalion" paddle latch. Another question, how did you secure the back side of it to the car?

I'm not using handles. I ordered two 12V drawer locks and flush buttons hidden below the carpet to release the lock. I spliced into the rear 12V outlet and ran it to a BlueSea 6 circuit fuse box after over riding the relay for constant power.

I originally ordered another 12V lock but it was 1" and I only had a 3/4" gap.

The sound deadening is like Dynomat but it's made by Stinger.

Looks really good! I've been contemplating this for a while, but am curious ... for the folks that do this, what do you do when you fold down the rear seats? Or do you just never fold them down?
