Just talked to CVT. I said I wanted to get the Danali and how to add a 3rd bar like suggested on there site. They mentioned you cant use your factory rack, and even with the Rainer you cant use the factory rack. With the Danali they said you must get a flat rack, but I am not going to spend $1000 to have a rack for my $2000 tent. Even with the Rainer they said I must get a Yakama or Thule rails though.

I suspect they say that, but many have used the stock rack...anyone have input? Its basically the same tents as FreeSpirit, and they said factory racks are totally fine?

I am in for the Mt. Shasta Summit with Extended Vestibule Summit in Tan or Green.

I spoke with CVT two days ago, they wanted to set some rules for a smooth process on this group buy. The last group buy was crazy and caused a lot of un-needed stress at the CVT facility:

1. No Group shipping - Only group shipping allowed for Hawaii, Canada, and Alaska.
2. Discount applies to Tents, Awnings, Awning walls only.
3. Accessories and parts will be 10% off
4. No discount on trailers, maxtrax, trasharoos, demo items, ladders, condensation mats, etc. ONLY on tents, awnings, and awning walls.
5. No HOLDING a tent with a deposit. Stop calling CVT and asking to offer a deposit in order to claim the first tent that comes in on the next shipment.
6. Ordering will be done via phone - No email or online orders.
7. I will provide the list of participants to CVT and they will let me know who is ready to order by spot number. I then will send ordering instructions to those individuals.
8. Do NOT call CVT and try and place your order if you haven't given instructions. CVT and I have agreed to turn you away if you try to do so

Please respect these ground rules. Many vendors do not do group buys because things go haywire during the mass ordering process. Let's not close the group buy gates that CVT has open for us. Let's continue to do these in the upcoming future.
