Daylight Savings Time

Hey 4Runner folks - I started a White House petition to abolish DST. It's a terrible institution that affects us all. Regardless of race, creed, political stance, or even jeep people. Please sign if you are so inclined. I need 150 signatures to make it public on the whitehouse.gov site and 100,000 to get it officially addressed. I'm not the first to do this but it would be good to be the last.

I wish we would abolish Standard Time. I like DST much better because I hate it getting dark at 5pm in the winter. Tennessee was trying to pass a law to make DST the standard time and unfortunately it failed.

Probably more of an off topic discussion but I would rather DTS than standard. I like it being dark at 8:30pm... Not 6 in the winter.

To hell with staying light until 8:30 pm in Texas during summer. I hate the heat. I am only still here because I want to retire from my current location. 5 long years before I can leave.

I don't care about DST or otherwise. I just wish they would pick ONE and stick with it. there is no reason for it to change. just leave it alone!

We have daylight savings time to save energy. Why would we want to repeal that? It also is in effect in 76 countries so good luck with that.

But you can do more things. Granted I hate it being 90 at 9 lol but still.

It doesn't save any energy. its completely pointless anymore.

edit: I should clarify, I don't necessarily mean DST. just the time change in general. its unnecessary.

This is the whole point of the petition. Changing clocks is archaic and frankly stupid. That big star we live off of does just fine regulating cycles.

When I was on a 6p-6a overnight shift, we got hosed every fall if we were working when the time changed. They didn't pay the extra hour. The rationale was that the spring change balanced it out. The geniuses didn't get that it only turned out that way if we happened to be on shift again in the spring.

Wow. I work a 12 hour rotating shift, and we either get an hour of overtime(if it rolls back), or a free hour(only work 11).

I'm glad this is finally getting out. I've known for years about DST it is a Goverment conspiracy to make us stupid. Apparently it is working. I'll let you in on another thing, I know for sure, without any doubt, and 100% certainty that it's Hilary's fault. The mainstream media is in on it for sure.

We got the free one in the spring too but I would have been fine if not. All I wanted was to get paid for what we worked. Holidays were another snafu - we worked 12 but only got 8 hours holiday pay because it would be "too complicated" to pay some employees differently. And this was a municipality, not a private employer.

Are you in public safety?
