Daystar 2.5/1.5 vs Cornfed 3/2

Looking for a spacer lift/leveling kit for my '06. Anyone here have opinions on the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit vs the Cornfed 3/2 kit? Pros/cons? It looks like Brutman carries the Cornfed for $285, and the Daystar kits run for about $140-160.

I have the cornfed 2/1 paired up with Fj springs and don't have any complaints about it. I guess it depends on how much of a lift you want? I think the 2.5/1.5 will be a little more subtle, that's probably about where i'm at now maybe a little more because i went up a tire size. The 3/2 kit will def have you sitting up much more noticeable than stock. At the end of the day i think it just depends on how much lift you want,if you just want to level it out then i would do the 2.5/1.5,, i think both kit's are good and do their job.

CornStar or DayFed

I just pulled out my 2.5" Daystar front and replaced it w/ Cornfed 3" front. I netted a 1" increase by doing so.

I installed the Daystar 2.5/1.5 about 3 years ago on my "08 Sport w/ XREAS. In the past 6 months, I noticed the front seemed to be sagging a bit. I measured, and sure enough, I had lost about 1/2" over 3 years. Doesn't seem like much but that's 20% of the 2.5" lift.

Daystar spacers are made of polyeurethane. A fancy term for high density rubber. Over time, rubber will compress. When I pulled them out, I could see they were a little smashed.

Cornfed spacers are made of UHMW which is a fancy term for high density plastic. The difference is, these will NOT compress over time.

Stock height measuring from center hub to fender is 19" in the front.
After my Daystar lift, mine measured 21.5".
3 years later, mine measured 21".

I installed the Cornfed on Tuesday (today is Saturday) and it measured 23"!
After driving around for a day, it's a solid 22" from center wheel to fender.

FYI- These are 2 different type of lifts

While they are both spacers, the Daystar spacer sits ON TOP of the coilover assembly. This way, you maintain the exact same stock ride/feel after the lift.

The Cornfed has 2 spacers for the front. The UHMW spacer is a PRE-LOAD spacer that you must compress the springs to fit it inside the coilover assembly. Then there's a smaller aluminum spacer that sits on TOP of your coilover top plate. This set up has your coil compressed about 2" compared to stock which causes a slightly stiffer ride. After 2 days of driving, I don't even notice it.

If you have any questions, email me w/ you PH# and I'll call you.

I have had my Daystar lift on for 7 years. I can not say I notice any sagging.
Spacer lifts are not rocket science, just go with whatever is cheaper. you will not notice a difference with either one unless you need the additional advertised lift of the cornfield.

Measure from the center cap to your fender. Measuring this way takes out the tire size factor. Stock height should be 19". If you have the Daystar 2.5 you should be measuring 21.5".

Mine measured 21". W/ the Cornfed installed, I'm now at 22"

Maybe I got a bad batch from Daystar?

Mine measures from 21.5 -22". I just measured it. Mine is the old body style and yours is the newer style so it may not be relevant. I also have the older style 2 piece preload style spacers.

The Daystar cannot "compress" in the front because of the way the hardware works. You basically compress it when you install it by tightening the upper strut mounts until the stud extensions are metal to metal with the frame bracket and the rubber spacer is clamped in between the two parts.
