DD Opinions

Do not buy an a4, very unreliable, I even had the non-quattro version. My IS300 was a great car, never had a single problem. The gas mileage isn't great with that or the sc300. I am looking at possibly getting an e36 m3 for my DD.

202? I highly doubt that! I also have a hard time believing 45 mpg. I think I was getting mid to upper 30s with my 03 R6 and that was with fuel injection. Only believe the 0-60 but I actually think it might be a smidge faster then that.

My vote for a DD would be a small honda or toyota. But that is more a commuter then a DD.

Not sure that would be great for a 25 mile commute each way, but I will give you my route and you can let me know how it goes.

Yea I have seen quite a few of those old BMW's for pretty cheap, but its just like an Audi, expensive parts, not great to work on

Everyone has this stigma that they are so terrible, they aren't and especially when running to and from your work even if the drive is very spirited, you can still have a bunch of fun.

Yea I hear you buddy, I wouldn't be totally opposed to driving an Acura TL with the 3.2, they are pretty quick and the interiors are nice

Yea I have been hearing a lot of the same about he A4, the look great, and are comfortable, but not super reliable. I am not buying the DD so much for Fantastic MPGs, just as much to keep miles off of the 4runner.

To be honest, since you're tight on budget and your parents are helping with insurance, why not just wait until you're more established financially before jumping into a "project" car?? Use the $5k for something else...like gas for your 4runner or something else (investing, cameras, iphones, etc.).

Yes, i sound like an old fart and a parent....
 
Motorcycle insurance depends on age. I've had a few through the years. When I was 20 I had a '75 KZ900, and insurance was $50 ish a month. Then I bought a Harley at 22 and it went up to $75 a month. When I turned 25 the insurance went down to $25 a month. So it's not really too bad.

LOL, well this really isn't even a project car. I just don't want to put 40 miles on my 4runner a day. I just want something else to drive back and fort

I know Id love an Audi A4 1.8T, but the reliability scares me. The Nissans do seem pretty cool, but they are also dang old

the A4 is the best car on your list and the 1.8T is a fairly reliable engine IMO. I would also have to say to save the $5,000 and put it into something else like maintaining your current ride, or put it towards furthering your education or anything.

I know we all love our 4Runners and I see this on a lot of forums. No matter how cool you think your 4Runner is at the end of the day you are driving one of the most mass produced SUV's on the market! Who cares about how many miles you put on it, its not an antique Porsche or some ultra expensive super car, its an SUV. Its a work horse that is made to perform hard labor duties without complaining.

Buying a new vehicles means more bills and more money leaving your pocket.
 
Hey Casey why don't you wait to finish the car payment on your 4runner then get another car. Autobell will let you clean your bike through the wash i'm sure. :lol:

Thanks for the input brother. I didn't buy this 4runner to drive back and forth to school. It has always been my plan to have 2 cars, and I can do it now. YOLO :cry:
