I am trying to figure out what else I need in order to build a new 4 runner. The idea is my 85 is in-between a buggy "to noisy" and drive-able rig or expedition style rig. It also has a supra swap which I love but am always worried about it when i'm on the trail. I want the reliable 3.4. I have a future build for a buggy but the toyota stuff is to small for that as is the budget. So the idea is use all the parts below and find a 3rd gen to tear into.
What am I missing?
Tear down the 85 4runner...
Keep
Front axle
front leaf springs 4in allpros
high steer
front shocks and hoops.
rear shocks
dual gear cases
5.29 ARB diff front and rear
37" MTR's
*cross fingers drive lines are close* <--- anyone know if drive line tech still does projecs? I know they say there closed but i have heard he does a couple projects...
Then BUY 3rd gen limited 4runner
Keep rear axle stock but swap my diff
lift the rear 4" or to level
hack off all IFS and fab hangers for the all pro springs and shocks
Use 3.4 outers and breaks on the 85 solid axle
Aquire 3.4 auto to dual gear case adapter
Cut the fenders
Fab belly pan/ cross member
So what else am I missing?
