dont mean to be beating a dead horse, but I'd really like to go to death valley sometime. A buddy of mine goes 2x a year and always comes back with fun experiences.

Howdy,
I just want to chime in…I am a geology MS student and will be investigating a project out towards the Panamints hopefully right around the time you guys are out there. I'd love to tag along for a day or so.
I have done some of those trail, Race Track, in a 2wd Tacoma so feel I can handle my way in and out of some of it with a 4R 4wd.
I spend a lot of time in the field and am pretty much ready!

As far as I can tell you guys have not quite firmed it all up yet right? I found a bunch of posts and saw some changes but have also been pre-occupied.

Yeah, stay tuned. I try to keep my trips pretty fluid as far as the plan goes. We are meeting up in lone Pine on Friday night and going to head into DV on Saturday morning. We will spend the night at the springs and head out on Sunday morning. As far as routes We will try to stick to the plan, if the plan changes due to weather, then we will stick to the new plan.
